Cancer does suck, indeed. It is a terrible disease that takes so many from us in death, and many more of us in life. I am terribly sorry for the loss of your grandfather. Cant even imagine how that would feel. And I’m also sorry that your youth pastor has cancer.

Now, I don’t know him/her in any way or form, but I can tell you that if their relationship with God is truly strong, despite the fact that it will be tried and tried again during this time, he will be at peace with his own passing into the glory of heaven. That doesn’t make it easier on you, or your peers who had lived under a similar influence, or his friends, or his family. But I believe that if he can use his faith in God and Jesus to stabilize himself, you can use your faith as well to get you through this time. Here’s a verse I found for you that may give you a little bit of hope.

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” – Psalm 73:26

I will continue to pray for you my brother.
